274 - Fashioning
E.G. started studies in Visual Communications at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles last month. Her assignments are tapping new talents and inclinations; she is on a fast learning curve in a competitive program, and she’s entranced, absorbed. What a pleasure to see my child discovering her life’s work.
Two Hundred Seventy-Four
Fashioning
Can I assemble the stuff of dreams?
Direct my imagination and creativity, Holy One;
Turn my passion into skill,
Educate my intention with knowledge.
My fingers stretch, acquiring discernment,
I wield pen and fantasy, cloth and inspiration;
I explore the subtlety of adornment,
An interplay of make-believe and reality.
I serve You with my happiness,
My growing aptitude the weft of my productivity;
I weave in values: honesty, forthrightness,
And wrap the world in the shining fabric.
