PSALMS
223 - A Song of Healing for Stella bat Masha
Is it only serendipity that brings people to my website? Btzalel wrote that he “did not know we still have psalmists in this day and age.” And then: “What kind of psalm might be appropriate to heal a mentally and emotionally very disturbed, desperate and unhappy woman?” - his ex-wife, mother of his three year old daughter. “You don’t need to respond to this email,” he went on, “but a psalm/prayer for Stella, daughter of Masha, just might be a good thing.”
So I did what I do, sent him what he had so gently requested. He wrote back to thank me. I heard from him again today. He described the remarkable events of a pleasant afternoon with his ex-wife and daughter - “the very, very first time during Jenny’s memorable life that she spent more than about one or two minutes of time together with both parents in the same room in happy conditions.” A storm blew up, they returned to Stella’s home, and Btzalel saw not one but two rainbows.
“What does it all mean?” he concluded, “I do not know. But your Psalm, our ‘family’ gathering with good feelings, the twin rainbow – all following so closely upon one another; all so very, very remarkable!”
Two Hundred Twenty-Three
A Song of Healing for Stella bat Masha
Soothe these soul troubles, my Healer,
Take my hand in courage;
Embrace me with hope and calm,
Lingering reminders of Your care.
Let each new day bring progress,
Aligning me toward wholeness.
Bring strength and healing,
A new day of brightness,
Trouble-free nights of kind dreams.
May I walk renewed in wonder
At the person You have created,
Senses attuned again to beauty,
Hate and bitterness now set aside,
A long journey safely ended.
