209 - Transition
My daughter has one more semester of college; one class really, she is in that precarious state of almost there. She is trying to plan her future, and the process can sometimes be painful to watch, as she evaluates and hesitates, questions prior choices and the vagaries of life. I don’t remember it being this hard when I was her age. Gently, I try to listen and counsel: one step at a time.
Two Hundred Nine
Transition
I hover on the edge of my future.
Not finished with this moment,
Anxious to move on, I stammer
With the tasks that will define tomorrow.
Growth increments stack precariously,
As, uncertain of my competence,
I search for outward signs.
Faint hearted, I reach for You.
Move me forward through transition,
As one life stage flows to the next.
Strengthen my steps along the path
That leads to fulfillment.
Simplify my yearning for wholeness
With success in single tasks
That, piled one on the next, will triumph
In my safe landing on a new shore.
