8 - For Courage
I am still in a holding pattern, waiting to land in a place of better breathing, better endurance. Now is my time for patience and for hope.
Eight
For Courage
You fly, O Eternal, between the heavens and the earth,
Multi-colored plumage leaves paths of brilliance:
They lead my soul to You.
Circle back, O Flier;
As I turn to follow Your path,
Draw me across the sky.
Your wings flutter, hovering above my head,
Stalling until I look up;
You linger, You capture my attention,
And lead my soul to You.
Beckon me with Your throaty call;
I spread the wings of my hope,
And lift, singing back Your notes.
Slow for me, hold back Your speed,
My wings must gather courage;
I strive to follow the spiral of Your passage,
To follow my soul to You.
Guide me on, O Flier,
Lifting through clouds into sunlight;
Let me rise ever higher.
